The Company was incorporated in 1978 to oversee operations in onshore concession areas covering approximately 21,000 square kilometers including five of the most important mainland oilfields in the region. During the first quarter of 2006, the inauguration of the North East BAB has been started.
Control and coordinate the activities of the core storage facilities at ADCO Base Mussafah, including reception, preparation and storage of cores and cutting samples, lay-out of core material for core studies, and routing of core analyses.
Supervise technicians obtaining plug samples for core analysis and slabbing of core material. Liaise and coordinate with service companies, shareholders, and visitors to the core storage facilities for studies and examination of core.Supervise technicians taking digital photographs of slabbed cores on a regular basis, QC quality of core photographs, and ensure correct labeling and storage/accessibility of photos/files
a) Supervises five Senior Core Store Technicians. Controls the quantity and quality of the work carried out and coordinates between the core storage facilities and core laboratories, with inspection tours as necessary.
b) Supervises core storage facilities at ADCO Base Mussafah and at Bab13, maintains their safety, and makes sure that all the work is done in the proper way.
c) Ensures that financial and reporting functions are carried out on a timely basis: weekly and monthly reports, minor work orders, material demands, labor vouchers, etc.
d) Plans for future physical requirements of the core storage facilities, submitting detailed requests and initiating inquiry procedure as to availability of such equipment.
e) Plans and submit to EUM the annual and other periodic forecasts for budget purposes, concerning the core storage facilities.
f) Assists in the preparation of departmental reports as required.
g) Assists in planning the training and development needs of the core storage facility staff.
h) Controls the maintenance of equipment and ordering of spare parts.
i) Supervises the selection of samples for dispatch to Shareholders and other parties concerned in special studies.
j) Periodically examines core storage facilities functions and recommends such changes and improvements as may be required.
k) Ensures, by contacts with ADCO and outside professionals, that he is abreast of current developments in core and sample analysis, handling and storage, and record keeping.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or equivalent qualification.
· 15 years experience in all aspects of geological work.
· Fluent in English
